Instrumentation & Controls Design Engineer
Location: Huntsville, AL – onsite

Our client, a leading engineering and technology company, is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Design Engineer to support complex industrial, power generation, and regulated process facility projects. This is an excellent opportunity to work on advanced control systems in a highly technical environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop instrumentation, control, and electrical systems for industrial facilities.
- Develop PLC programs and HMI applications using Rockwell Studio 5000/RSLogix (Siemens experience is also valued).
- Prepare control narratives, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Support system integration, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards and quality requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in instrumentation and controls or industrial automation.
- Experience with PLC programming and HMI development.
- Knowledge of industrial control systems, electrical design, and instrumentation.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Experience in power generation, chemical processing, manufacturing, or regulated industries is preferred.
- Familiarity with Rockwell, Siemens, ETAP, MATLAB, or AutoCAD is a plus.
- U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance.
