We recently sat down with Luke Somers, a Client Business Manager at FootBridge who creates tailored staffing solutions for industrial facilities, power and utilities, renewable energy, oil, gas, and chemicals. By gaining a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within these industries, he establishes significant connections with clients. Here, we talk with Luke about what he enjoys most about his work.
Why did you choose to work with FootBridge?
I’ve had the pleasure of working with the FootBridge team before, and their passion for the energy space is contagious. It’s the team’s culture and the relationships they build with candidates and employees that really drew me there. I have stayed connected with the team since I left seven years ago to move to Nashville.
What made you want to return to FootBridge?
FootBridge prioritizes client relationships and takes a long-term approach to success rather than seeking quick wins, which really resonates with me. I am passionate about being a part of the energy and infrastructure build-out and ensuring that the best people are driving these critical projects. When I left at the end of 2017 to move to Nashville, I had already established great connections in technology and energy, which will serve my clients well in the future.
How has the staffing industry made an impact on your life?
I’ve had incredible relationships with the team, and we’ve always stayed in touch, so it was an easy decision to return to FootBridge. Building relationships and knowing the people driving energy and construction projects is fascinating to me.
Where does this passion for Oil, Gas & Chemicals come from?
My passion for Oil, Gas, and Chemicals comes from working with those clients and the natural progression of engineering production and construction. Many people focus on high-tech and digital transformation, but they sometimes need to consider the critical infrastructure of low-cost energy, which enables further progress and innovation. It’s a fascinating space to be a part of.
How do you spend your free time?
In my spare time, I enjoy skiing, hiking, and spending time with my wife, Ashley, and our mini golden doodle, Edgar. I am also a Boston sports fan and a member of the Young Professionals Board for Team Impact. I grew up in Southern New Hampshire and attended Pinkerton Academy and Endicott College before joining FootBridge, which has truly become my professional home.
