Structural Engineer
Role: Structural Engineer (PE)
Salary: 100K-120K + bonus
Location: Denver, CO
Duration: Permanent/Direct Hire
If you’re a structural engineer who enjoys solving problems, getting into the field, working directly with clients, and seeing the bigger picture, this could be a great next step.
Rather than spending your days focused solely on new building design, you’ll evaluate existing commercial properties, uncover potential structural and seismic risks, and help owners, investors, and lenders make informed decisions about their buildings.
You’ll work across a wide variety of property types—from multifamily and office to industrial, retail, mixed-use, and hospitality—so no two projects are exactly alike.
What Makes This Role Different?
More variety: Combine field assessments, structural analysis, technical reporting, and client interaction.
More ownership: Lead smaller projects and serve as a trusted technical resource for clients.
Less repetitive design work: Evaluate real-world buildings and solve complex problems rather than focusing exclusively on new construction.
More visibility: Work directly with property owners, investors, lenders, consultants, and project teams.
More autonomy: Apply your engineering judgment with limited supervision while continuing to grow your leadership and project management skills.
What You’ll Do
Lead structural assessments of existing commercial buildings.
Evaluate building conditions, construction, materials, and structural systems.
Perform seismic risk and property condition assessments.
Review drawings, specifications, calculations, and other technical documents.
Identify risks and develop practical recommendations for clients.
Prepare and present detailed technical reports.
Manage smaller projects and coordinate with clients, consultants, and field teams.
Travel to local and regional project sites approximately 25–50% of the time.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering.
PE license required; SE preferred.
7–12 years of structural engineering consulting experience.
Strong knowledge of building codes, structural systems, construction methods, materials, and seismic/lateral systems.
Strong technical problem-solving and project management skills.
Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, Microsoft Office, and Box.
