Duties Will Include:

  • Develop and maintain schedules to include an adequate level of detail associated with all phases of a project, from kickoff to project closeout. Levels of schedule detail will include: baseline schedule, Level I summary schedule, Level II detailed planning and design schedule, Level III contract schedule, look-ahead schedules and integrated project schedules
  • Cost load schedules and develop work breakdown structures that correlate cost estimates with the schedules
  • Liason between the Project and the Client on Project Controls issues
  • Prepare reports for the Client
  • Integrate with client’s scheduling system, incorporating subcontractors and consultants, creating a cost loaded schedule to allow project performance measurement through an earned value system
  • Coordinate with project team members to perform routine updates to schedule
  • Track and report out on project budget and committed contracts
  • Work with project team to establish and then maintain detailed cash flow forecasts
  • Track actual spend for the management team, designers and construction contracts, for direct comparison to the project plan
  • Perform detailed schedule and cost assessments, coordinate evaluation of task/project precent complete, and perform earned value analysis and assess the impact(s) of design/construction changes and schedule alterations
  • Develop manpower forecasts for contracted and potential projects
  • Participate in project meetings to provide updates on cost, scheduling and project controls related activities
  • Participate in Value Engineering and Risk Analysis Workshops
  • Implement and maintain the change management processes
  • Track and verify disposition of invoices
  • Create and run reports as necessary to support the project team including resource histograms, cash flow, milestone reports, etc.


  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or related field preferred
  • Minimum 15 year’s hands-on project controls experience on complex engineering and construction projects. Experience on transportation projects, rail/transit, and/or power/communications projects are preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of general project management processes (schedule management, submittals, RFIs, invoicing, payments, daily reports, etc.)
  • Relevant project controls experience from initial project development through completion including: CPM scheduling, cost estimating, cost analysis, risk analysis/assessment, performance analysis, EVM and change management is preferred
  • Advanced Primavera P6 uses (including cost and resource management)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, charts, etc.), and similar experience with Microsoft Access is a plus
  • Applicant must be able to work in both a team environment and independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients
  • Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence and manage change
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Minimal travel required
  • Valid driver's license required
