Senior Fire Sprinkler Designer
Location: Lincoln, NE
Compensation: $75,000–$100,000 Base Salary
Job Type: Direct Hire / Permanent
We are partnering with an established fire protection contractor seeking an experienced NICET Level III or IV Fire Sprinkler Designer to join its Omaha operation.
This position is ideal for a designer who can independently manage commercial sprinkler designs from initial plans through calculations, coordination, submittal, and approval.
What You’ll Do
- Design and layout commercial fire sprinkler systems
- Prepare shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, and project submittals
- Design wet, dry, pre-action, standpipe, and other water-based systems
- Coordinate designs with architects, engineers, contractors, other trades, and field personnel
- Handle AHJ comments and design revisions
- Support project managers and field teams throughout construction
- Ensure designs meet applicable NFPA standards and local codes
What We’re Looking For
- NICET Level III in Water-Based Systems Layout required. We can consider someone that has their level II and is scheduled to test for level III.
- Strong commercial fire sprinkler design experience
- Working knowledge of NFPA 13 and related fire protection standards
- Strong hydraulic calculation experience
- Experience with AutoSPRINK, HydraCAD, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of permitting, submittals, and AHJ requirements
- Practical understanding of how sprinkler systems are installed in the field
