Senior Engineer
Title: Senior Electrical Engineer (Engineer III)
Location: San Francisco, CA (94124)
Direct Hire/Permanent Role: Salary $128K–$168K + bonus + full benefits
Overview:
A leading employee-owned electrical contractor is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support complex commercial, industrial, and mission-critical projects. This role involves technical leadership, design oversight, and coordination with internal teams, clients, and contractors to ensure projects meet all codes, standards, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor engineers and designers on project execution
- Oversee preparation of electrical designs, including power, lighting, and auxiliary systems
- Oversee development of power system single-line diagrams, including feeders, overcurrent protection sizing, and equipment layouts
- Review submittals, drawings, and specifications for compliance
- Perform or supervise system studies (short circuit, coordination, arc flash)
- Coordinate across disciplines including MEP, architecture, and construction teams
- Support value engineering, budgeting, and project scheduling
- Interface with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Conduct site visits, field surveys, and assist with commissioning
- Help resolve design conflicts, technical issues, and installation challenges
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of electrical engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles including power distribution, lighting, grounding, energy efficiency, value engineering, and applicable codes and standards
- Experience with design and analysis software such as Autodesk and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects
