Salary: $130,000 – $170,000 + bonus

We’re looking for an experienced engineering professional to take on a key leadership role overseeing the operations and growth of a well-established consulting office. This is an opportunity to combine business leadership, client development, project oversight, and team management while having a direct impact on the office’s long-term success.
You’ll have the autonomy to shape business strategy, develop client relationships, mentor and grow a high-performing team, and drive financial and operational performance across multiple technical service lines.
What You’ll Do
Lead office operations and performance for a medium-sized engineering consulting office generating approximately $5–10M in annual booked labor revenue.
Oversee project execution across multiple technical disciplines, ensuring projects meet schedule, budget, quality, safety, and client expectations.
Drive business development and client relationships, identifying new opportunities and strengthening partnerships with existing clients.
Lead the preparation and review of contracts, proposals, and project scopes, ensuring technical and financial requirements support successful and profitable delivery.
Develop and execute the office’s annual business plan, financial goals, and operating budgets.
Build and support a strong team by guiding recruiting, hiring, performance management, career development, compensation, and staffing strategies.
Partner with department leaders to evaluate workloads, anticipate staffing needs, and ensure the right resources are in place for continued growth.
Monitor project and financial performance, identify potential risks, and ensure appropriate risk management and contractual practices are followed.
Champion a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across the office.
Collaborate with regional and corporate leadership on business strategy, financial performance, staffing, business development, and operational needs.
Help shape the office’s growth strategy and ensure its goals align with broader organizational objectives.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant professional experience, or 12+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience leading or managing an engineering consulting operation, department, or multidisciplinary team.
Strong understanding of project management, financial performance, staffing, client development, and business operations.
Proven ability to build client relationships and develop new business opportunities.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
