Engineering Operations Manager
Role: Engineering Office Leader – Environmental, Geotechnical & Materials Services
Salary: $135,000 – $155,000 + bonus
Location: Tallahassee, FL
Duration: Permanent/Direct-Hire
We’re seeking a proven engineering leader to oversee and grow a consulting office focused on environmental, geotechnical, facilities, and materials testing services. If you’ve led technical teams, managed other leaders, and driven operational and business success, this role offers the chance to shape strategy and lead a high-performing office.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a multi-disciplinary office with $5–10M in annual revenue
Oversee project delivery, technical quality, safety, and risk management
Manage staffing, performance, budgets, and resource allocation
Review and approve client contracts, proposals, and scopes of work
Support and develop department managers to ensure strong project and team performance
Cultivate client relationships and lead business development strategy
Drive the office’s financial and strategic planning initiatives
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, or a related field (or 12+ years of related experience in lieu of degree)
PE or PG license strongly preferred
8+ years of progressive experience in environmental, geotechnical, materials, or facilities consulting
Demonstrated success managing managers and overseeing office operations
Strong business development skills and commitment to safety and quality
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
