Job Title:  Corporate Quality Control Manager
Location: Bellingham, WA

Rate:  $115,000 – $135,000

Hours: 40 hours per week

Our client is a general contractor in the Oil & Gas, Power, and Petrochemicals industries. 


  • Properly review and interpret customer specifications, procedure, codes, and material documents assuring that our techniques are in compliance with current codes and applicable customer requirements
  • Assure proper usage of company weld procedures, filler metals and associated requirements are applied
  • Manage company’s ASME and AISC Programs
  • Perform welder verification testing, including verification of welder identification(s)
  • Monitor the in-process welding activities to ensure compliance with applicable code, standards, and job specific requirements.
  • Maintain welder continuity
  • Prepare travelers and ITPs for Customer requirements and ASME section I and VIII code work
  • Develop and maintain current weld log(s), weld map(s), Track redline ISO’s and P&IDs to eventually to complete ‘turnover’ package(s) to customer.
  • Manage and coordinate third party NDE activities along with generating NDE requests
  • Schedule and witness hydro tests with customer and company personnel
  • Assist with RFI development and resolution associated with quality, welding, NDE and/or other related issues
  • Perform routine quality audits on company, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Support the estimating team by reviewing Client procedures and specifications during the bid process to determine specific welding, QC, and NDE requirements


  • Five (5) years’ experience in a welding inspection in QA/QC-QCM role within the petrochemical/refinery industry
  • Ten (10) years minimum as a Certified AWS Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent
  • Previous ICC for Structural Steel and High Strength Bolts
  • Must be able to pass a WABO exam for welding and high strength bolts
  • Working knowledge of ASW D1.1, D1.8 and AISC, IBC, ASME Sec. I, VIII, IX, B31,1, B31.3, B31.4 codes and/or specification(s)
  • Familiar with GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and SAW welding processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
