This past year has been busy for FootBridge. We discussed the differences between construction craft and management jobs, provided helpful recruiting tips for candidates, and provided information on the benefits of working with a specialized staffing agency. We interviewed many of our recruiters and support staff to get their take on working in the industry and hosted manufacturing job fairs for one of our clients along the 495 corridors.

Instead of a winter holiday celebration, because COVID-19 put a dent in our plans, we sent team members to dinner with their significant others and family members. We also got together in October at the Stage Neck Inn for a festive lobster bake, complete with a hypnotist for entertainment. Plus, team members from Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Oregon, and New England were on hand for the celebration.

FootBridge Charitable Giving

In addition to our regular staffing industry work, celebrations, and overall good cheer, we also took the time to give back to the community, which is very important to us! There were golf tournaments, silent auctions, and contributions to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which we have done for 10 years to support family friends whose daughter lives with the disease. We are happy to report she is thriving due to recent advancements in drug discoveries.

In place of our core value award, which recognizes a key employee’s contributions to the company as voted by our peers and $5,000 compensation, we opted to make two donations to employee-nominated charities.  After the votes were counted, Tunnels to Towers which provides mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children, was a winner. They also build custom-designed smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders, work to eradicate veteran homelessness, and aid the victims of major U.S. disasters. (Nominated by Josh Avin).

St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, where families never receive a bill for care (nominated by Brianna Lowe), was also selected.

For St. Jude’s, we chose to make it a match for the Push-Up challenge. We challenged some of our team to do 3000 push-ups to raise a minimum of $250 per participant to support St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, thereby pledging to match up to $5,000 of all donations to any of our members. Through this effort, our $5,000 contribution grew to over $7,000. Overall, we donated $5,000 to the Tunnels to Towers foundation.
